Unable to take the TOEFL or IELTS due to the COVID-19 pandemic?

Both ETS and IELTS are temporarily offering at-home online English proficiency exams. Please select either the TOEFL iBT At Home or the IELTS Indicator exam, and have your scores sent to the correct code found on this page.

If you attended a school outside of the United States, you must submit an evaluation of your academic records along with your application.

Approved Evaluation Agencies

The University of the Pacific accepts evaluations from the following agencies:

Evaluation Requirements
  • Request a course-by-course evaluation, including a grade point average (GPA). Your application will be reviewed using the cumulative GPA for all coursework completed.
  • Official evaluation copies must be uploaded directly to the application system.
  • If your transcripts are not in English, they must be accompanied by an official English translation before being evaluated.
  • A final evaluation transcript must indicate an awarded degree equivalent to a bachelor’s degree or higher.
Translating Official Transcripts

If your school cannot issue transcripts in English, you have the following options:

  1. Educational Ministry or Verifying Institution
    • Submit your transcripts and diploma/proof of degree to an appropriate verifying institution (e.g., Educational Ministry) for translation and notarization.
    • The institution should send the documents directly to the evaluation service in a sealed, signed envelope.
    • If the institution provides the documents to you, ensure they remain in a sealed envelope when forwarding them to the evaluation provider. DO NOT open the envelope, as this will void the verification.
  2. Translation Service
    • Submit your transcripts to a certified translation service.
    • The translation service should send the documents directly to the evaluation provider in a sealed, signed envelope.
    • If the translation is sent to you, forward it in its original sealed state. DO NOT open the envelope, as this will void the translation.
    • Include an official copy of the original transcript (in your native language) for comparison.
Special Cases
  • If you are unable to obtain official transcripts, our approved vendor Foundation for International Services (FIS) may evaluate transcripts based on unofficial copies.
  • Other foreign transcript evaluation concerns will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
